Best of Breed /    Best in Specialty by Deborah Mulvey.  This was one of the most exciting moments of our lives. For our boy to receive this great honor, awarded by one of the most highly respected breeder judges in the BMDCA, truly has made our dream come true.

Tchoum Finishes With a Hat Trick in Houston - 4 majors & 17 points!

We had an exciting weekend in Texas [July 20-22, 2007] : Our Tchoum took the points all three days of the Galveston County Kennel Club Exhibition. Tchoum met the challenge - Winners Dog and Best of Winners and 4 points. Not one, not two but three times to become Magic Berners’ 5th AKC Champion of Record.  He adds the AKC 'CH' prefix to his already impressive list of titles. - Portuguese Champion, and FCI International Champion.

Tchoum began his American championship competition with a placement in the Open Class at the prestigious National Specialty in Louisville, Kentucky.  He finished two and one half months later with 4 majors and 17 points in Houston, Texas 22 July, 2007. - Congrats Tchoum

After several Reserves, Illusion's Son 'Eminent' [Windraider's Eminent Thunder] got a Three point Major in Portland Oregon 7-21-2007.  He is only 8 months old but already looks & moves very well.  He lives with his breeder Kathy Davis in Bakersfield, CA.

Excalibur Finishes In Style at Mission Circuit
[Pomona, CA [May 25-28,  2007]   Just a few days short of his 2 year birthday, Excalibur brought home his last Major Win.

Excalibur is such a handsome boy. He is strong in type, sound as an  house,  and moves like the wind is always at his back.” - Thank you Susan & Ivan for trusting us with your boy. And Thank you judge Mary Ann Alston for making this a special Birthday.

Tchoum collects his first Major and first 3 points toward his AKC championship.  AKC rules require a dog to earn a minimum of 15 points to become a United States Champion.  The 15 points must include at least two ‘”Major Win’s” and be awarded by different judges…  After his open class placement at the Kentucky specialty, now this well deserved winner’s dog is on his way --- Thank you Mrs. Patti A. Long Smith for liking our boy.

Magic Potion Earns Her First Points
Del Sur Kennel Club, Del Mar, CA, March 23, 2007 Potion and Bruce make AKC history with their first point in the BBE (Bred by Exhibitor Class).  Three weeks later at Angeles Canyon, Potion took BW (Best of Winners) and two more points. She is traveling With Bruce, Diane, and the Boys  to the Kentucky Specialty where They  will compete with 1000+ other Berners.  – Wish them luck

FIRST ‘BIS’ BEST ‘Brace’ IN SHOW.
THE DYNAMIC DUO, Potion and Myage, [Alpenspirit Sweet November x Quillian Quint van’t Rijkenspark]  go all the way at the Del Sur Kennel Club.   Maggie Prilliman (Myrage’s owner) handled the brace.  Watch for a repeat performance in Louisville where the two sisters are entered at the Specialty.

ILLUSION SWEEPS SIR FRANCIS DRAKE
San Rafael, CA, September 16, 2006. We were very proud of Illusion as he took Best In Sweeps and then Best of Winners to collect another major win and finish his AKC championship in grand style. Let us be the first to introduce Champion Ellusion Van't Pachthof.

WE HAVE HAD A VERY EXCITING TIME SHOWING ILLUSION AS A PUPPY THIS YEAR. He started his show career with Best Puppy and a Reserve at Palm Springs (the 3rd largest AKC show in US) and a Sweepstakes Working Group-1 at San Bernardino. In fact he went Reserve in 6 out of his first 7 shows from the 6-9mo puppy class, and went Best of Breed twice from the 9-12 month class. He began his versatility career with a Mervyn's Department store TV commercial.

HE FINISHED HIS CHAMPIONSHIP AT THE SIR FRANCIS DRAKE show with three, four and five point majors. We are also pleased when he got Best Puppy in Sweepstakes at Sir Francis Drake show 2006. Illusion is now 16 months old and we are looking forward to his show career.

EXCALIBUR NEEDS ONE MORE MAJOR TO FINISH HIS CHAMPIONSHIP. He is on his way to greatness. This year he placed second in the Sweepstakes 9 to 12 puppy class and second in his 9 -12-month regular classes at the 2006 Bernese Mountain Dog National Specialty in Frankenmuth Michigan.

BEAU HAS EIGHT POINTS TOWARD HER CHAMPIONSHIP. She was awarded fourth-place in the Open Bitch Class at the 2006 Bernese Mountain Dog Specialty. Beau is on hiatus Because of  her pregnancy.

THE MAGIC BERNER JET SETTER - EMBER Ember has been busy this last year. She has become our Magic Berner Jet Setter. First by working her way into our hearts after arriving from Montreal in December. Then she traveled with Bruce to Holland to find her Prince Charming [Qwint v''t Rijkenspark]. Nine weeks later she presented us with five Magic Berner Pups. Thank you Ember. And thank you Mylene for trusting us with your girl.

Ember traveled with us to the Regional specialty in Pleasanton this October. She started her show career by placing 4th in the open class and went reserve the second day.

BRUDICE [retired] has obtained his American and international championships. Besides being beautiful he has brains as shown by his numerous titles: CD [obedience], RE [Rally Excellent], NDD [Draft] NAP [ Agility] . In 2006 he received The Versatility Award, as well as the Working Dog Award, from the Bernese Mt. Dog Club of America. We thank God for this wonderful boy every day. He is one reason our life is full of joy. Brudice can be seen in his magic act at private parties, corporate events, and at the Magic Castle (Hollywood, Ca) with his partner Dr. K!
